The always wonderful Roxane Gay on bodies doing impossible things

A very solid argument against inbox infinity (“That zero you are constantly fighting for is a lie. It’s a little spot on an endless slider extending forwards and backwards in either direction, and whether or not you pointlessly drag that slider to zero, there are another 100 million mostly irrelevant emails on the way to your inbox. Pick what you need out of the stream. Then...let it go, and watch that inbox climb”)

Not a complaint, just an observation

Reddit blew up this week when someone posed the question, "What's normal in your country that's considered weird in others?" Things we learned: People in Argentina will clap if they see a lost child, people in Ireland talk about death a lot, walking around barefoot outside in normal in NZ?

Covid reporters are not okay

Apparently frozen sweet potatoes taste like ice cream bars?

Slice’s new copywriter Claire introduced us to this online mini series called Hard Times To Fall in Love and it’s fair to say we’re hooked (plus we love a show that comes with a soundtrack)

Non-sexual turn-ons

Snack foods and scandal? This investigative piece on who actually invented Flamin’ Hot Cheetos is surprisingly spicy 🌶

What do you eat when you’re home alone? (scroll down; there’s  YEARS’ worth of eating-alone-inspo in the comments)

What we’re eating, listening to, reading and watching this week:

VANESSA —>

Watching: The third (and final) season of Shrill, which has just dropped on SBS
Eating: Julia Ostro’s haloumi, feta and spinach pie (and committed to giving those frozen sweet potatoes a go)
Listening: My husband asked me all week if I’d listened to this tune yet and when I finally did, I was embarrassed it had taken me so long (the video clip is equally as excellent)

(Lizzie will be back next week!)
